The Forrahof is situated on the quiet, sunny side of the Martell Valley, surrounded by meadows, mountains and South Tyrol’s unspoilt natural landscape. Here you can leave the stress of everyday life behind, take a deep breath and recharge your batteries.
In 1977, Albert Stricker purchased the Forrahof from the Kobald siblings and immediately began building a new farmhouse. In 1984, he handed the farm over to his son Erich, who continued to expand it and added two holiday apartments in 2025.
Brown Swiss cattle and Tyrolean mountain sheep are kept on the farm. The family also produces high-quality local meat. Our two cosy holiday apartments in Martell invite you to discover rural life and enjoy a relaxing farm holiday in South Tyrol.
The apartments combine modern comfort with the natural warmth of locally sourced Swiss stone pine. Enjoy the peace and quiet, the view of the surrounding mountains and a break that will stay with you for a long time.
The view from around the farm extends across meadows, the village of Martell and the surrounding mountain peaks. Here you can start the day at your own pace, breathe in the clear mountain air and watch the landscape change as the hours pass.

The Martell Valley is ideal for anyone seeking peace and wishing to experience South Tyrol’s natural landscape at a slower pace. Around the Forrahof, expansive meadows, clear mountain air and an impressive view of the surrounding peaks await you.
Numerous trails lead through the varied landscape nearby. Whether you prefer a leisurely walk, a longer hike or a challenging mountain tour, everyone can find their own way to explore the Martell Valley. With a little luck, you may also encounter some of the local wildlife.
After an eventful day, you return to a place where tranquillity can still be felt. Enjoy the view, reflect on the day’s experiences and relax during your stay.
The perfect place to relax
Our two holiday apartments provide a cosy retreat for relaxing days at Forrahof. Each apartment features a kitchen-living room, a separate bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
Outside, a lawn invites you to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Depending on the season, we also offer fresh lettuce, vegetables, herbs and berries from our farmhouse garden. Fruit trees bearing cherries, apricots and plums grow close to the farm, allowing you to experience a taste of rural life.
For a delicious start to the day, we offer a bread roll service on request. You can also enjoy our homemade jams, syrups and herbal teas. This is another way to experience the authentic flavours of farm life.
A small shared utility room of approximately 4 m² is available to guests of both apartments. It contains useful cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner and broom. Laundry facilities are available for an additional fee.
To ensure that our apartments remain clean and well maintained for future guests, pets are not permitted indoors. However, a separate doghouse is available directly outside, meaning your faithful companion can still join you on holiday.
‘Zufrittspitz’ apartment
The south-east-facing apartment on the second floor measures 43 m² and has a covered terrace of 7.5 m² as well as a 7.5 m² balcony overlooking the Martell Valley. The bright kitchen-living room with dining area is equipped with a pull-out sofa bed and satellite TV.
The kitchenette includes an oven, an induction hob with four cooking zones, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, a dishwasher, kettle, filter coffee machine, crockery and additional kitchen utensils.
The bedroom, with a double bed and wardrobe, was crafted from natural Swiss stone pine sourced in the Martell Valley.
The spacious bathroom with shower and toilet includes a hairdryer and towels. The entire apartment has underfloor heating and free Wi-Fi.

‘Rotspitz’ apartment
The southwest-facing apartment is located on the second floor and measures 44 m². It features a covered 11 m² terrace overlooking the Martell Valley.
The bright open-plan kitchen and living area with dining corner is equipped with a pull-out sofa bed and satellite TV. The kitchenette includes an oven, an induction hob with four cooking zones, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a kettle, a filter coffee machine, crockery and other kitchen utensils.
The bedroom with double bed and wardrobe features furniture made from natural Swiss pine sourced from the Martell Valley. The spacious bathroom with shower and toilet includes a hairdryer and towels. The entire apartment has underfloor heating and free Wi-Fi.

While modern apartments with smooth surfaces and clean lines can sometimes feel cool, our holiday apartments welcome you with the natural warmth of locally sourced Swiss stone pine. The wood comes from the Martell Valley and brings a piece of the surrounding mountain landscape indoors.
Its lively grain, warm colour and distinctive fragrance give each apartment an especially cosy atmosphere. Our rooms radiate calm, comfort and a tangible connection with nature.
After a day in the mountains, you can sit back, enjoy the quiet and recharge. The lovingly crafted Swiss stone pine furniture creates a retreat where you feel welcome from the very first moment.

Directions via the Brenner motorway
Follow the A22 Brenner motorway to the Bolzano South exit and then take the MeBo expressway towards Merano. At the end of the MeBo, continue along the SS38 state road through the Vinschgau valley. Between Latsch and Schlanders, take the turn-off towards the Martell Valley and follow the main road to Martell. From there, follow the signs to Sonnenberg or the Forrahof. Your destination is Sonnenberg 123, 39020 Martell.
Directions via Reschen Pass
From Reschen Pass, drive via Mals and continue along the SS38 state road towards Merano. Follow the road through the Vinschgau valley, pass Schlanders and take the turn-off towards the Martell Valley. Continue along the main road to Martell and follow the clearly visible signs to Sonnenberg or the Forrahof. The exact destination address is Sonnenberg 123, 39020 Martell.
Arrival by public transport
If you arrive by public transport, we will be happy to collect you from the bus stop in Martell by prior arrangement and take you directly to the Forrahof.
